Crazy mom

It's shocking how far people can push their kids. I have friend who's mother is crazy, and wants her daughter to be the best at everything. Now thats cool if it's in a supportive way but she takes it to a scary level. This girl has to go to some crazy insane private school away from all her friends, she has to plat 2 hours of tennis every night because she's some state champion or something, and she just has a few other things filling up her plate making her life so complicated. One time her mother told my mom all of this and my mom said "Well she's doing the best she can and you can't ask for anymore than that" and my mom laughed but she didn't she just said sternly "Yes you can". I mean come on, give you're child a break. Then when I asked the girl about all of this she actually thought that it was her fault that she is so stressed. I mean she clearly can't see what an influence her mother has on her. These people are supposed to be christian but I feel like God is something far away in the back of their minds. It's sad because God's the one who gives us our gifts and if we do nothing but get better at our skills what do we have to show for it in heaven, we say "hay God did you see me play tennis wasn't that great?" and he's just gonna think "Well yea I'm the one who gave you the ability to play like that" and then there's just gonna be an awkward moment between you and God for a minute.
