Lazy
Jul 22, 2008I stand on my platform with my fingers pressed over my ears and my eyes fixed straight ahead,
Because God forbid I have to look down
What a day that would be!
When I'm fully aware of the lives crawling underneath my arrogant feet
I wouldn't recognize the scene,
My eyes would un-focus and then turn back to safety
Praise me for looking, yet simultaneously repulse myself.
I'm coping with the suppressed realization that I don't even care.
As long as I don't hear their suffering I'll go back to my stagnant life
I'm furious that I'm not furious!
Am I at fault? My media men give me stories to listen to,
But what does it accomplish?
I need something I can do!
