I'm working on... In October of 2007, I was awarded my first book contract. It's an historical piece about ghosts and hauntings in the New Orleans area and will be published in October of 2009. My goal is to write fictional stories in the future, but you have to start somewhere and I am blessed that this chance was given to me!

That is truly wonderful that your life is getting back on track. I too love writing. I actually just recently really got into it. I've always been interested, but I never pursued it. I love it. It's such a release. It's amazing that you get to write a book. Best luck, and congratulations. :)

That's good you're almost done. I'm sure it will be well worth it in the end, especially the sense of completion.

Odds and Ends

Apr 01, 2008

I really haven't been online much lately and that's mainly because I've been busy.
Busy doing what?

Well, writing, mainly. I've been gathering interviews, printing out letters of inquiry for interviews, hitting the library, communicating with my publisher etc.
And...preparing to move back into my house. Finally.

I also got a new kitten. Look for a photo.

Another big reason why I haven't been online much is because it's so easy for me to loose time on th internet. I have a horrid fear that I won't get the book done. Of course the fear is irrational since I'm nearly half way done! I might get it done early like I planned!

I'm waiting to hear back from the jury about the art show. They let us know on April 15th Tax day. How lovely.

[ view all ]My Unauthorized Biography

Tracie was born on December 8th, 1980. Many people have asked her if she is the reincarnation of John Lennon, but she doesn't think so. Originally hailing from Chalmette, LA. Tracie spend much of her childhood communicating with the monster that lived in her closet, collecting found objects, and reading anything she could get her hands on. In 7th grade, one of her teachers taught her the value of writing in a journal, and she has done it ever since. She graduated from high school early, and started college intending to get a degree in English Lit. However, due to some intense personal problems, Tracie dropped out of college and didn't go back. Through it all, she always wrote. In 2001, she married the love of her life, Brian and moved to New Orleans. They are insanely happy and Brian understands her better than anyone. Well, perhaps not as well as her two best friends, Danielle and Brandy, but that's another issue. Tracie slogged away at soul crushing corporate jobs. To get through it all, she started online blogging to make fun of the assholes she encountered through her day. Making it her motto to be published by 30 or die, she started to think that dream would not be reached. Until September of 2007, she and her husband attended Dragon Con in Atlanta, GA. There she met a woman named Dinah who gave her a serious break. She offered Tracie a contract to write an historical piece on New Orleans Ghost History. Since she has always had a fascination with the strange and unusual, she jumped at the chance and the manuscript is underway. She also works in the digital medium and she sells prints through her DeviantArt page. When she's not writing or making art, she is working on DIY projects, makes fun of stupid people, reads, watches movies and visits friends.
