in a way, your vlog is already a kind of break-away from the norm. it's a critique of the norm. but is the bar going about the bar or the alcohol? i see bar going as an attempt to drown out the reality of the life's loneliness. if you went elsewhere, the realness of that loneliness might become too hard to bear. if a person is not willing or ready to confront that, then it's better to leave them alone and hope they wake up.

I hear you. However Life is what you make it, Right? So if you don't want the same weekend make it different. It is hard and difficult but I believe that it is up to us to make the difference. "the power of ONE" Right? I think we fail ourselves when we don't realize the influence we have or the power we have on others. We can change and influence our lives how we want we just have to choose to take charge. I am 26 and have had the weekends you talk about for the last 5 years. I am that person looking back that you described regretting the past. There is more to experience then the bar scene every weekend. But it is up to you to change that.

I totally understand ~ you need time for YOU stuff. Not always doing things for other people, in a sense. Things will slow down soon, I know what its like working, school, social life on top of all of that. Taking a few mins for yourself without the noise of the world definitely helps recharge your batteries.

i totally agree... why always bars?! I don't really like bars much and people make me feel like I'm an alien or something because of this fact. How can I not love bars?? Jeesh.

God, I totally agree about poeple going to the bar after work. I'm 29 and I've been "fighting" my coworkers for years about other places to go after work...besides bars! ahhhh!! It's the whole youth culture right now to not be smart, and want to have an intelligent discussion, but get wasted & talk shit on other people. Keep the faith...there ARE others who don't want to go to the bar after work! : )

My life is just so crazy right now. Between school work, interviews for internships, and my social life, I'm about ready to call it quits. (I'm not exactly sure how I would "quit" but it would include not leaving my apartment and marathons of movies and television.) Ok so it's safe to admit I'm kinda stressed out, furthermore, I did something REALLY stupid this weekend and the effects of my actions are messing with my head. I was fighting with my roommates who I adore (some days) and drinking way too much (and the obvious consequences of that...) I can't focus on anything because the whole weekend is just on constant replay in my head. Thus, my work isn't getting done. I'm just exhausted and it's in these moments of exhaustion, you have to keep pushing ahead. Pick up the pieces right? Find me the energy and I will.
