About me

I'm Aaron. That's all you ever need know. You don't even need to know that. But honestly, if you're interested in who I am there are far better ways to figure that out than reading my opinion of myself in a blurb on a website. And if you're truly interested and for some incomprehensible reason feel like learning more than what you can find out for yourself, try talking to me. I've learned that helps in understanding people.

Interests

Books

,Most anything and everything,so it's easier to just list a couple dozen of my favorite authors. But to narrow it down to the top ten,I'd say,in no particular order: Terry Pratchett,Neil Gaiman,David Weber,Robert A. Heinlein,Fyodor Dostoevsky,Mike Helprin,Leon Uris,Steven Pressfield,Richard Feinman, and William Faulkner.,

Movies

,Braveheart,Forrest Gump,Secondhand Lions,Stranger than Fiction,American History X,Love Actually,Children of Men,Stardust,Pirates of the Caribbean,V for Vendetta,Pulp Fiction.,

Music

,Once again, anything and everything. I'll listen to anything with a melody, and sometimes even if it doesn't.,

Artists

,Vincent Van Gogh,Akira Kurosawa,Ansel Adams,Pablo Picasso,Michaelangelo,Ludwig Van Beethoven,Johannes S. Bach,Frank Lloyd Wright,and above all the amazing Wharton Esherick.,

first - the cadet barracks or where ever it was that you wear that awesome uniform (:P) - I'm guessing that visiting Ike Hall I would not have seen that uniform before...
second - I've noticed that thought thought before, but the strange thing is when something reminds you of a thought that you had during those two hours and suddenly you remember a lot of the things you thought for no reason at all

But I dont see it as a way of assimilation, but rather separation. I feel that america is a melting pot of these cultures and it isnt uncommon in this country for someone of one cultural background to celebrate something not of their heritage. These hyphens to me just seem to be a way to keep separation and draw attention to the fact that this person is a minority. But i would defiantly like to discuss this more.

I can't give as much of a philosophical view on the matter, but tracing family bloodlines, or following my family tree, I'm related to Charlemagne (the "father of Europe" according to wikipedia) and King John (signed the Magna Carta and of Robin Hood fame). Does that make me royalty or in any way in line for the throne? Nope. Their doings don't really effect me, and personally, I like Robin Hood better than King John as the story goes...
