I think this is just brilliant. The texture is rough, "natural" - but also is carefully composed; the vector that meets his head gives this cartoon-like image depth and suggests things beyond the frame. It's witty and ironic - the coat, the expression on the lips - but gloomy or even dangerous at the same time (a car accident at night?). There's truth in the gesture of the head turning, of the hands in the pockets of the raincoat. An awful lot has been done by suggestion here.

Great feeling for space and gesture - the insanely long fingers going outside the picture frame, the upward movement at the shoulder. The explosion of blue is a really resourceful way to get an impact out of that small but all-important corner. You've used both green and blue to counter the predominant red, so you didn't have to use a lot of either.

I love the depth and the framing devices. Those little bits of blue help the color balance.

This composition interests me. The motion of the lines, the glow. It feels like a owl seed -- like something is growing -- incubating egg, insulated seed. Owls being the symbol for wisdom and in some cases a forewarning.

I absolutely love the feeling that comes with this. It's like, im waiting for you, hitting the pause button, holding on with my entire hand, but my mind goes blank. why am i waiting? my body is filled with passion and deep reds. is that why? everything around me is turning cold. should i keep holding up my hand as my fingers keep growing and i grow more blank?

it just really makes me feel. to me, thats everything.

i dont know if you've ever see the work of chet zar but google him and let me know what you think. he's one my favorites and this image, especially with the caption, reminds me of him.
