I have to say that i was deeply disturbed by your videopost.
I'd say that you were acting in good faith if your intent was to offer playful deflation. And i would heap congratulation on you for making your (hilarious) effort to do so. I might also say that it was well executed, and that your playful attitude disguised a deeper thoughtfulness.
That said, sarcasm has no place in the media.
They are moving themes and choices of character, and there is a well placed choice of crisis. And my position is that our generation needs a new beverly hills 90210, or a degrassi high, because we need formulaic plotlines, an absence of criticism, playfulness and absolutlely need no participation in our media if we are to preserve the Republican Party's dominance at the next Presidential election.
I humbly submit that you cease to post, because it is an insult to the president, the stranglehold over broadcast media that big money and enourmous production houses have, and that -- as patriots -- we have an overwhelming obligation never to tatter, nor bring to light any of the consequences of such a state of affairs.
Wasn't it Thomas Pain who said "Our system of government is not built on faith, but on suspicion." so don't criticise faith. It is necessary for our necessary cruelties overseas. Let me remind you, again with the words of one of the founding fathers:
"Whenever we read the obscene stories, the voluptuous debaucheries, the
cruel and tortuous executions, the unrelenting vindictiveness with which
more than half the Bible is filled, it would be more consistant that we
call it the word of a demon than the word of God. It is a history of
wickedness that has served to corrupt and brutalize mankind; and, for my
part, I sincerely detest it, as I detest everything that is cruel."
[Thomas Paine, The Age of Reason]
Fun can have no place in such affairs as these. Farewell and Adieu.
Playfully Yours,
Ben.
