I'm very attracted to mythmaking in art. This image is an update of a classic idea. You are alluding to an older picture, aren't you? But I can't think what it is. All I can think of is Cocteau's "Orphee" where Orpheus' death watches him sleep.
I love it. The interaction is great. A little problem planting feet on the ground, but still very believable interaction between two figures.
This is an amazing piece. Everything looks so real here.

How are you? Thank you for all your wonderful comments. Frida is a great influence in my paintings. She was extremely expressive and creative. One day, I hope to achieve what she did in her paintings.
I love the expression on her face,though I am not sure whether it is wistful or satisfied.Either way it is definitely contemplative.
Scary. Not sure where you're coming from, but you certainly have... what is it, courage? to face things in yourself?
Thanks for the comments hunnie, "The Forgotten" was still at the anger state, that was a few yrs ago, now I've accepted it and I've decided to move on!! Thanks for the other comment about supergirl, sometimes I feel like her, she's got the weight of the world on her shoulders at times that's what I feel like...but I'm learning to let things go, it's a constant struggle for me...BUT I'll get there!! :)

Great oil painting and the subject is one that I can appreciate. Dionysus, the god of fine wine and partying :) I like the grape wreath he dons. I can't figure the cheetah though. Is it his mascot?
