I know what you mean, though; my summer ended last Wednesday.
It is ridiculous that I only just saw your message from over a month ago. I hardly go on this thing! Anyway, yes, Banksy is a really creative and elusive talent. A rarity in the field that will no doubt attract lots of people to make it popular.
You are right, though. Even while trying to create something beautiful, criticisms (ugly ones, too) will come. It is not beneficial to take it to heart and let it weight you down, but to take it for what it is worth and press on and try for better. I hope that you are continuing in art, and pursuing that which makes your soul beautiful.
And school! Of course that must be starting soon for you, if it hasn't done so already.
The reason I got into stenciling is because I think street art always intrigued me, but I was too afraid to try. Although I broke rules as a kid, vandalism was too far for me. I was afraid of what the public might see, and whether they'd approve. I think I'm slowly beginning to understand that what other people think, does not matter. It is in the inherent expression of oneself and conveying a message that overflows from the heart that is important.
I think deviantart.com and Banksy really influence and inspired me to start this new form of expression. It's fun, and easy :)
somewhere between my studies, I'll try to fit in some room for creativity. Why do you draw?
