About me

Since about 10 years old when feeling lost in a new land-Dublin Ireland to Montreal Canada- it became necessary to find some kind of self substantiation,so drawing seemed to fulfill that bill.It didn't actually, not then at least but by degrees as the years went on it became a comfortable place to go to.It had external bonuses too, some kind of recognition and it was static, unlike a great chef whose great meals die when they are consummed or those who ate them pass on, art visably and tangibly lives on. That's not always a good thing if one can be overwhelmed by what can be percieved as "failure".But the opposite can also be true, that is something that was good once and is still around is going to be good in the present and most important a stimulous to do more rewarding things.
Somewhere along the way a simple idea in a book on art struck me as interesting,i.e., that is the idea of doing a drawing a day, hence coining the term, 'Sketchadaybook',probably (apropriately enough in the

I see boats, a dolphin, a shoreline, water, and fluid lines - the sea, in other words. Some vibrant colors (I even see a fairly hot pink next to a grass-green on the "steamship" at the bottom!). Very attractive piece, vital lines.

Thankyou so much for your comment. Always appreciated! That painting is actually my final submission for uni...whilst I'm not doing art as a degree I've been doing a module on religion and the visual arts. Loved doing the painting, but not loving the 1500 evaluation I now have to write about it! Anywho, thanks again :)

So much detail...it's a spitting image. Not to be spit on of course. You and your pieces are works of art!

I loved the travel adventure through Havanna. You were able to capture the people, dogs, colors, sights, sounds, and ambience of the city streets. I loved the door knockers, the way you captured the courtyards with the arch ways in front. El Capitolio, the trees especially the one with those incredible roots. My favorite is the self portrait at the bar. That is my favorite place for capturing the life of a city. I hope you were able to have one for me. Thanx for sharing this wonderful ...

Thank you very much for your comments! The work around my eye is all about the texture and the shadows and lights on it. A friend of mine, a DOP, once did a picture of an eye and it was so beautiful, I tried to do the same but my result has to be worked more!

This door was huge and there was no way I could have reached up and tried to correct the right side unintended detachment as you may have noticed by now. They have to be old, would up words of 21/2 centuries be an exageration?
