I really hate perfume commercials...like what are do they think they're selling. How does this... make you want to buy perfume?
nice and cool here in DC
I will be absent for the recap in the morning - have an early photo shoot for my son's soccer team (and you know how brutal the paparazzi can be for the six year old set) then have to get in the doctoral gown to sit up on the platform for Mason's graduation - then rush from there to coach the aforementioned soccer team. whew!
Fortunately I'm confident that one of you will step in, especially since the Saturday morning recap usually involves a fairly low level of exertion...
Now that's savage Dean! It makes my working 9 hour shifts at a bustling Filipino restaurant and finding time for @pack, seem like picking up an empty soda can and tossing into the garbage. You're the real hero big guy
And Dean, I think your right. Blah Monkies would be a cool band name. As long as it was a good rock band, and I got paid royalties for coining the phrase.
Pandora is straight up awesome, though it can get repetitive if you listen to the same station...
i love Pandora. my friends got me hooked on it, and i listen to it so much now!
same here. I'm kinda mad that my phone isn't compatible with pandora yet tho. I wanna be able to listen to my stations where ever i go

So remember when I was whining about the weather? NOT TODAY! WHOOO! It's so effing gorgeous here in MN today I could kiss the sun if it wouldn't burn my face off. Damn I love sunshine!!
And Dean, I think your right. Blah Monkies would be a cool band name. As long as it was a good rock band, and I got paid royalties for coining the phrase.

by the way, is anybody else excited about this new movie, "recount"? i think it might be an hbo original... i'm not really sure. but i know i want to see it. it is supposed to be a really accurate and educational portrayal of the inside scene during the 2000 election.
One of those seriously slow days in ql and @pack that make me wonder about the usefulness of a recap, but unable to stop the habit, here’s your morning recap:
JHA thinks some Kevin Smith movies are geographically limited in appeal (well, I loved garden state and nearly all of Smith’s movies, and other than some shore time and brief visits to high schools haven’t spent any significant Jersey time. Maybe it’s an East Coast thing…), then posts a New York Times Article
Faeriel plugs her new song
Grasshopper posts some quotes (last recap should have said that Grasshopper says they don’t replace recap quotes, but I think they’re better)
Jays posts a link to creating your own radio station (takes me back to my college radio days – had the Friday 4-7pm shift – called the show Friday 4play…), and agrees Blah monkies makes a good band name but wants royalties; Lil thinks crack monkeys would be better, but Jays thinks the whole crack things is already over-used
Jays wonders at the dearth of @pack posts, and CK responds that he was in San Fran and Berkeley.
Time to reenergize @pack and ql, thinks me. Expect more traffic in the coming weeks, and we should be encouraging and helping that process! Comment on ugq (like Faeriel's new song), bring friends, etc etc. And a related quote: "Another flaw in the human character is that everybody wants to build and nobody wants to do maintenance."— Kurt Vonnegut. Be well, @pack, and be seeing you.
I agree with Dean - @Pack does need to be refreshed. It would be so nice if we could figure out a way to attach music to the forum but I think that would be short of impossible... unless maybe someone posted a radio list daily?
It may be that we're also hitting a lull because of the recent site issues, though for the faithful (jha, sixy, Franchise), where there's a will, there's a way. I don't think I could leave QuarterLife alone even if the site for some insane reason died. I might show up on Mshersk's front doorstep - kidding. Am I? Ha! You Rock, Marshall.
Anyone got ideas? Maybe we need to recruit some fresh members?????

Well the recap is the only time we see you anymore
so you always have to

Crack Monkeys would be more appropriate for a rock band however...
but there are already a lot of bands with crack and similar sounding words in there name.
