Blog 6: California to Vegas (1 1/2 months left)
Jun 15, 2008I'm so excited to finally get out of California. I both love and hate it here. Some of the best people I've ever met are a few hours away, but it's just too far. No one wants to visit someone in this nothing town. Maybe moving to Vegas will be good for me. I'll be able to visit friends in LA more and I'll be closer to family. I'll be able to get a job.
Mostly, I need a change. California is full of heartache, more than I can deal with anymore. We lost our family, our house, our jobs, our opportunities, and our loves here. Everywhere is a little reminder of something painful.
Vegas is a new leaf; an opportunity for me to find my own way of living. Hopefully, it will give me enough distance from the guy who broke my spirit, my heart. And maybe I'll finally get away from the place that still holds too much pain. With time, I believe I'll be able to go back and only remember the good memories. Time can change everything.
