When you photograph people in colour you photograph their clothes. But when you photograph people in B&W, you photograph their souls! ~Ted Grant

About me

As much as I possibly can I dream. I take myself away from my reality, and I dream of everything and anything. I try to create and capture moments that I want to feel, but possibly never will. I can't allow myself to be sucked into the hate and viciousness of this world, cause it would break me. I don't want to accept the truth. I want to keep dreaming. I want to live, and learn, and love. I want someone's eyes to light up when I walk in the room. I want to accomplish something that everyone will be in aw of. This is what I dream of. Because Dreaming Is So Much Better Than Reality

Interests

On being an Athlete

,I've been an athlete since I was 5 years old. I've done everything from Dance and Baton to Basketball and Waterpolo. Right now I play volleyball and have been doing so for the past 7 years of my live. I LOVE it. I can't see myself ever being inactive. I would go crazy. I love playing any kind of sport, even football with my brother. Its taught me so much about life and it gives me an outlet that other things can't. I was blessed with an athletic body and I'm glad I've taken advatage of it.,

Photography

,I started taking pictures with a 35mm SLR when I was 14. I don't know why but I loved shooting, and capturing moments that last a second and making them last a life time. My dream is to create photographs that people look at and are astonished. Photographs that allow people to think, and reminisce. I want to create photographs that bring emotions to the viewer they didnt think was possible. I want to capture and savor all of Mother Nature's glory before the human race destroys it.,

Writing

,I love to write. It relieves stress and allows me to sort out my thoughts. I often only write to appease myself. However,I make attempts at writing short stories or poems, and am always looking for suggestions on how to make them better. When I was young I would sit in my room for hours on end and write story after story. "Once upon a time..." "Happily ever after." However, now the stories have a bit more depth, they are still mostly dreams.,

Philosophy/Psychology

,I am a constant thinker. I analyze people and the always ask why. I am never satisfied with a simple answer and always challenge the beliefs of myself and others. Answers such as,"the bible says so" do not satisfy me. I need to know more. I love to learn and listen to oppinions. I love to think. I love gain knowledge and wisdom. I'm a people watcher. I see the way others interact and I wonder why and how they came together. I never stop asking why and I never stop challenging my beliefs.,

it has been a while. I've been pretty good. Right now I'm working on Newbury St. in Boston, playing soccer, and hanging out. I actually have a friend from Aspen visiting. What about you?

The Most Amazing Gift. - 5/31/2008

Jun 01, 2008

so i kinda want to share a lil story about what happened to me this weekend. It made me very Happy and teary eyed at the same time.

So, as i've been discussing recently, I'm graduating from High School in a week, making me the last girl (on my dads side of the family) to graduate. Anyways, my uncle came over yesterday to hang out and see me before i go off to Ohio. Towards the end of the night, he presents me with a card and small box. In the card was another letter that read:

Many years ago Papa Don started a family tradition. He had a diamond cross made for Grammi. After that he then had another made for each daughter, neice, and granddaughter on their graduation from high school. Papa, being the staunch traditionalist that he has always been, asked me to please carron on the tradition. He especially wanted to make sure that Janine (me) received her cross from him & Grammi. This cross is exactly the same as all the crosses Papa had made. I am sure he would have been thrilled to present this to you himself but somehow knew he woudlnt be here to do it personally. So please accept this diamond cross on behalf of Grammi and Papa, as well as your mom and dad and all the rest of your family.

My Papa died right before I turned 16 (my sophmore year) and we were extremely close. It was at his funeral that I found out about the cross tradition because all my cousins were wearing theres and talking about them. Being the youngest girl in the family by a long shot, I would be the only one to never have recieved the cross from my Papa, and frankly wasnt expecting it at all. It makes me happy and sad and very curious to think of how my Papa was thinking about this while he was dying. I think the most special thing about the cross, even recieving it after his death, is that its a reminder of how great a man he was. He was always doing the smallest, yet kindest gestures for people, especially his family, and especially me. I miss him so much, and this is such a reminder of how he is always with me.
