Time for an update.
Nailed the interview at Radical Media, but it turns out they wanted me to stay and be hired after the internship would end in September. I decided (and was prodded by parents, profs, etc.) to finish my last year at Princeton.
This is good and bad. Good because I know my video work is standing on its own in the commercial industry. Bad because I'm anxious to get out there and start working. I guess I'm lucky; we're doing principal photography for the next two weeks on my first real film. Stylistically it's patterned after Jorgen Leth's short film Det Perfekte Menneske, but it's inspired by Walter Benjamin's Berliner Kindheit um Neuzenhundert. That's exciting. Also shooting a music video in two weeks for a band I met at a gig here in Berlin.
Busy two weeks ahead. ZDF picked me up for an internship in Berlin at the Hauptstadtstudio. Hope I get to be involved in some real TV production and not just pushing paper somewhere...although
somebody's got to do it. I'm just glad to be starting.
