About me

My name is Kyle. I'm into musical theater, people, writing, breathing, food, and my ipod (which is finally working!) I sing/act/try to dance, run, get bad grades because i'm to involved, and freeze because i live in the northeast. I love to meet new people but that isn't the only reason i started an account. I'm here to express myself without restrictions.

I agree. No one has really asked me to a party like you've been describing ,but I know I really wouldn't enjoy going to one. People who throw those types of parties usually do it so people will except them. Not as who they really are but for being stupid enough to throw a party like that.

I'm glad you liked it, and I am also so excited for the spring!

Reflections in a Window

Apr 14, 2008

Well here's the update for all of you dedicated readers that like to be updated on the busy life of KYLE SEGARRA. Jk..but seriously...I like that some people actually read these blogs. I love you guys!

As some of you know already, I went to my first Broadway musical audition yesterday. What you probably don't know is that I pretty much had the best time of my life again. Figures, second time I was in the city, the second time I had the "best time". The city was definitely made for me.

WELL, anyway, I left my house early saturday morning so that I could have a vocal lesson with the incredible Natalie Weiss. The train ride was the best part of my morning before I finally got to the city. It gave me plenty of time too warm up my voice and to think about what the hell I wanted to do with my life. It really was a beautiful experience. (My first time on a train.) There were so many different people getting on and off, and there I was..listening to my ipod watching. I was really fascinated. The lesson was really great too. She helped me make my audition piece more crisp and ready to be performed. I'll definitely go back to her when I can save up enough money.

Natalie Weiss singing "Quiet" by Jonathan Reid Gealt

The next day my mom and I left Gale's house (where we stayed over night) and hoped back on the train. I slowly and quietly warmed up my voice while we "choochooed!" away on the tracks. There were less people yesterday because of the time (4:30am) but I enjoyed it all the same. I made sure to listen to Spring Awakening the entire way there so that I could get myself into the mind set. It really sent my imagination in a million different directions. I'm not gunna lie, (hehe) I wasn't like "if i get in" blah blah blah...I was imagining myself as a part of the cast. Going on the tour, singing the songs, meeting the people, changing lives, etc. One thing I've learned that you need to bring to an audition is confidence. Which leads me to my list of audition tips for my future auditions.

1.) Take at least five minutes before hand too mentally prepare yourself before going in. Review your music and your story. Etc.

As fun as it was to rub the lucky plant outside the door, that probably wasn't the most important thing for me to focus on.

2.) Walk in confident and smiling.

3.) Make eye contact

4.) Concentrate on what is being said and try your best to make a human connection with the Judges.

5.) Thank the Pianist!!!!!!

I completely forgot, even though I was telling myself this before I walked in the room. She was such a great pianist too!

6.) At least offer a hello when you walk in (which I did) and a goodbye, have a good day, or a thank you when you walk out. (which i did not >< )

Over all, I think I did a really good job. My goal is..well, honestly to be casted in the touring cast..but that's way in the future. For now it's to do really well at a callback. I am very passionate about the show and I would love to be a part of it, OF COURSE.

As for right now??? I need to switch my attention over to Footloose. The first show is in about two weeks and it's really coming along.

Maybe i'll get a callback for Spring Awakening..maybe I wont. Either way, it wont matter...because I love what I do, no matter where I am, or how much money I happen to be making.
