About me

My name is Olivia...I'm in the stage right now where I'm really finding out who I am, so there's a lot I'm still learning. I'm also learning how to get my priorities straight and what really matters to me. I lovee photography, cinematography, and all kinds of art. I especially love music as well; to a certain extent everyone does, but music for me can literally change my day. I think the point of life is to love...nothing else really matters in the end. And I'm in the process of finding that out.

It's a close-up shot of a shell. It really was that vibrant too, this picture wasn't editted at all!

This is really cool. But, what, exactly, is it?

Into The Wild

May 05, 2008

Happy Cinco de Mayo :) It was a stressful weekend, but at least it ended well. On Saturday I had SAT's, but luckily they weren't as bad as everyone said they'd be. There was one last Dance Party at this guy's house who's been having them for years. They're always infamously fun, but it turned out to be insanely awful. Drunk babbling boyfriends, cliche high school drama, the works. HOWEVER, Sunday was very good! I saw the movie "Into The Wild" for the first time. I haven't read the book yet but now I'm definitely looking forward to it. To those who haven't seen it yet, please please do. It has such a strong story and moral appeal, and it was just one of those movies that hit me perfectly. Especially since it's a true story! Or based off of one at least. Christopher Mccandless is now one of my hero's. Not that I'm thinking of living alone in the wilderness, but sometimes that doesn't sound so bad...until I realize what it means.

This year has really taken an awful toll on me...part of me has literally died just because of all the school work and classes! This Summer will definitely be one I truly deserve for once. I think the first thing I'm going to do is buy a smoothie from Blenders and then pass out on the beach.

Hopes are still high for not moving, and I'm constantly crossing my fingers. A lot of people say Santa Barbara is paradise; unfortunately, I agree. But if you think about it, paradise is a curse in disguise, at least if it's expensive, because no matter where you go after that it'll never be the same. But I suppose that change and assimilating is a huge aspect of life that everyone goes through.

Oh and also, some of my photos are being submitted into a congressional competition! The top prize is $500, which would be beyond incredible seeing as my old car is in need of expensive repair and I am currently unable to find a new job, especially with my limited availability. But I would be happy about it not just for the money, I'd love for my art to be up somewhere! I think it would be an amazing experience.

Oh and by the way, I would LOVE to hear from you guys. Let me hear what you have to say! :)

6 more weeks until Summer.
