“Boyfriends and Girlfriends”- An amusingly provocative fast paced, colorful and issue driven comedy-drama web series that boldly exposes and explores the sex, love and relationships of couples. The unique twist here is manifested via 3 different couples that are socially intersecting and seemingly navigating to the best of their ability through crucial life-threatening mainstream and “underworld” circumstances. Our story’s main focus is our heterosexual couple, considered the most traditional orientation among humans. The life of our main couple is fueled by conflict with even the appearance of an association to the two opposing and separate factions. One of the story’s alternative and opposing points of view is our female lesbian couple, who is only romantically and sexually attracted to other women. Our third contrasting perspective is our male homosexual couple, which refers to both the attraction and behavior between those of the same sex or sexual orientation. The duality of bisexuals exists as significant in the storyine, as they are equally interested in men and women but shift between states of finding either gender or sex exclusively attractive. Each couple is motivated to be on course with their known agenda, for survival as a couple is vital. Meaning that they’re found vulnerability to the other orientations present could potentially cause their couple annihilation. The web series will have a film noir look and quick banter between them, which will support that they seem to operate out of craziness and habit. Whether you’re straight, gay or bisexual you will one day consider that relationships do not come with “warning labels” , but you will have to think and feel, then pick a side, choose your weapon, choose to protect your heart because there are no warnings that remind you to apply caution…you just might get hurt. So which team are you on?

Digging this. Have you developed your witty little logline? Have you put together character "sketches"? Have you begun working on your episode plotlines?

(1)I love this idea, Grigori. It shows three completely different relationships. There's the traditional straight couple. Then there's the two homosexual couples. I'll find it interesting how you'll portray each.

(2)I'd suggest that you portray the Lesbian couple as being harassed by heterosexual men on a daily base, because we all know how most heterosexual men feel about girl-on-girl action.

(3)As for the gay male couple, it's a lot different. While the Lesbian couple is encouraged by the straight men of society, gay men are jeered at, constantly ridiculed in the eyes of the 'traditional american man."
(4) I think that these contrasts will bring a lot of color to this series. Possibly even add in a gay marriage for more controversy? Good luck with this!

Very well articulated premise. It's like a combination of 'Til Death and Queer as Folk. Is that what you're going for?

Your three contrasting orientations create a nice foundation for love, internal conflict and external conflict to intermingle with the everyday lives of the characters. The fact that the common ground of bisexual tendencies will be the basis for both romantic encounters and conflict all at the same time sets an interesting precedent for the series.

I'm interested to see how the "underworld" themes come into play, and would caution you that (as you probably already considered) leaving too much room for the characters to blame any transgressions on specific situations or mind-altering drugs, for instance, could cheapen the message that you are trying to send about the malleability of the human sexual condition. I'm sure we will see the characters battle with internal demons, but in the end... will they choose comfort over true happiness, or even truth?
