Why are friends so stupid?

Okay, so for Speech I took up a duo with my friend. We have only been working on it a week and she has put nothing into it at all. The first time we were supposed to go to a meet and preform it, she skipped out and left me hanging. And then she lied about someone in her family dieing so she wouldn't have to pay for the drop! I thought this weekend was going to be different, I thought that maybe she would take responsibility for what she has undertaken. Boy, was I wrong. Now, because she "can't" memorize the lines for our piece shes just going to give up, and skip tomorrows meet! I can believe this because...that's what she has done since the first day I met her. If anything got to hard she would change or lie or just not be there. It bothers me because now she's in a realationship with a guy that was going to go out with me. [whole different story] it's just I'm afraid that she is going to hurt him. I know it's none of my buisness, I have no right to care...but I care about him. This girl is a senior, she doesn't have any asperations for her life after highschool, none. She wants to look like a victum, when in reality she's the one who is leting everyone else down and....she's the murder of her own dreams.

In some small way aren't we all truly like that though. Your point is completely valid and I support it 100%, however for each and every one of us at some point in our lives when the going gets too tough, we book it. If you truly care about this guy, do something about it. It is your business if he is a friend. As far as your friend is concerned, who knows? Someday she might be the next Paris Hilton...
