You never really did though, I guess
I was the one to always kiss you and leave you with sweet dreams.

And here we are:
Two strangers
Too estranged
What feels like nothing.

Burdended by a committment not yet there;
No ring, no promise
Just emptiness.

That's what it is.
Not a blank slate; that's too clean.

A sudden emptiness
Filled with an awayness that has been there...
And stayed.
