It was there I sat, [Rant]

Thinking of what to write, as I watched the deterioration of our world slowly crescendo to all new highs, or lows, depending on what side of the spectrum you position yourself at.
The eventual, inevitable decay of consumer society is......
Is what?
Both eventual and inevitable?
Try preventable.
How?
Sustainability is the idea that society can maintain existence indefinitely by both evaluating and partitioning resources, and limiting its population to meet these standards. Is it too late? Population sky-rockets as we sit by, squandering resources, killing off species to utter extinction. Do we even deserve to change? We commit atrocities on each other, ourselves, our planet. I mean, fuck, why can't we see this? Why don't we ask ourselves, even just once, if giving up some convenience today may prevent us from fucking it all up for our kids? Gas, crime, poverty, all the numbers bellow up endlessly. The climax, the fall of our hero, humankind, all of it to the hellish pit we ourselves, looking our own evils in the face, dug. There are no hero's, no one can save us, it seems. We kill our heroes and give the villains office. Idealism, optimism, good to have, but better to use. Stand the fuck up, look around, see through the greed and bullshit that our governments, built for the rich by the rich, feeds through news corporations, religious ideologies, and public service messages. Law's don't protect our freedoms, they limit them. The patriot act legalized torture, and is aimed at creating situations controllable moreover by declaration of a police state. Orwell said "Freedom is the right to say '2+2=4'.", and in this age of government propaganda contrived for mass consumer culture, that definition may not be far off.
Public schooling is a fucking scam, you get bullshit lessons, based for standardized tests that have the state government giving more money to schools with higher scores, all the while, children in rural and urban areas, not the middle class who already fills the colleges, get shit on by the government that is supposed to be "protecting" their right to a good fucking education. Without reform in the education system, we, and our children will only drift as the classes separate from upper-middle-lower class system to the often inevitable slave and master.
Prohibitions, bans, censorship, internet laws, all of this created by the government to limit the power of the people who create them. People created the internet, not the federal government, people decide if they want to drink, own guns, read books, you have the right to be free, but its your responsibility to be willing to fight for it. The federal government has weapons, armies, things that a pen and paper can't fight. We have to be stronger, we have to be better, we are the people, all of us White, Black, Latino, Asian, everyone, in a nation of immigrants, and this is our fucking country.
