i wait at the edge of the world (poem)

i wait at the edge of the world

i walked to the edge of the world
and contemplated falling off
the thought meandered in my brain
then a cold sweat came across me
bringing me back to my reality
smacking me in the face
and throwing me into an
ocean of thoughts and theories
a pool of morals, creeds, and evil seeds
trying to get planted in my brain
they grow like roses
smelling sweet but
below they have thorns
they are glorified weeds
and so i must pluck them out
i must acknowledge the works of evil man
taking the good and throwing the bad
i walked to the edge of the world
and studied its evil borders
its ancient cultures
and midnight horrors
i walked to the edge of the world
and pleaded for jacob's ladder
or any passage-way to You
so i walked to the edge of the world
and i wait there for You

i wait at the edge of the world (poem)
