I collected about 3 trash bags full of hair for my pieces. It took me over a year t the salon I worked at. I was very picky- I only wanted 2 inch or longer hair. It was fun telling the clients about how their hair was going to end up as my artworks.
I also made a loom and weaved some small textiles out of hair. I've seen some amazing pieces made out of hair too. I hadn't seen very many before I started working with the medium though.
You should create something out of your own hair. It'll be a little keepsake made out of you, by you:)
