Mar 22, 2008 - 18:14 PM PST I live in what is know as the rich town of the area in between cleveland and columbus . Even though technically it's not even a real town its a township. It is sad because the majority of people in this town don't even realize what poor is. Poor in most Jacksonight's eyes is a three bedroom ranch and no sixty thousand dollar cars outside the house. I honestly don't have a problem with rich people because the truth is the majority of my friends are very wealthy. And I'm not exactly below the poverty level either. There is a select few of friends who are ridiculously rich though. sometimes when i come into some of my friends homes i feels as if I'm entering Versailles. For instance there is this one friend of mine, Maddison Gesiotto. She seems to be the definition of perfect. She is insanely beautiful. Lives in a beautiful mansion with a family that loves her. She gets a 4.0 in school. Oh and she is favored to win the gold in the winter Olympics in 2010. Yep she is an ice skater, and a damn good one at that. She doesn't even go to school for a full day. She is at school for four periods then goes to practice. In fact little Miss Perfect had her sweet sixteen party at the local country club on thursday night. Talk about an event. The theme was a formal black. Of course being the over achiever that i am I arrive in black pants, black CK shirt black bow tie, black fedora with a white feather, and my famous black and white shoes. As I danced to all the songs by famous rappers that I had never heard of, I asked the question" what is this?" Whatever happened to the typical birthday party. You know bout twenty kids hanging out in a basement somewhere a girl crying, two kids making out in a closet, and of course the mom lighting the candles of a birthday cake that she bought from Sam's Club. This party was about a hundred and twenty teenagers in hundred to six hundred dollar outfits dancing in a ballroom of a country club. Eating a cake that was the size of a wedding cake and had to have cost three hundred dollars. there was although plenty of gils crying, most of it by the birthday girl( she's a bit of a drama queen). The night ended with maddis gift being presented under the porte cochre of the prestigious club. Yep daddies little girl got a car, but not a just a car a 2008 mercedes benz (black to match the party of course). I didn't understand this frankly because i think that people should have things like a benz to work towards in life. Not everything in life should just be given to you. Because whats the point in working hard ; i mean if everything was given to you what will you work for in life i mean i suppose she could work for a Rolls Royce but thats probably her graduation present. Even though we all feel the majority of the time "Why can't my parents just give it to me?" I think that we really wouldn't want it that way i know I wouldn't want a forty thousand car as my first car. I'd get too much grief about it for one LOL
Wow!
haha I wish it was like that here in Akron.
but I know what you mean, the less expensive parties [to me] are way better than some rich sweet sixteen.
I would know, I go to them all the time :)
