Never had a girlfriend
Not that none have offered

But I've not been interested
Not ready, not for sure
Not courageous enough maybe

Just looking for a girl
That I can look in the eye
And know that she knows me
And that I know her

That she'll know it'll be ok
Everywheres safe

But that takes time
And endurance
Of me and my ways

And if I don't think you can handle me
And my ignorance
Than you'll never get the chance

Seems dumb, huh

They say you need confidence
Well I have that

Confidence in the human condition
That we all fail
And we need more than one chance

Confidence that we all screw up
But you can learn from history

Confidence that life screws you up
And that it takes a hell of alot of effort
To live a good life

So is that deep enough for you?

They say that deep thoughts should be saved
For later dates
But why not the first date?

Everyones got problems
And theres a shortage of doctors
And I happen to have some bandages handy

But what am I
Just a boy, a man, a human?
And I'm young, not experienced
