Well. Writing in blogs isn't new. The places in which we spread our digital lives out is beginnig to grow. Myspace, facebook, livejournal, old files of AIM conversations and encrypted confessions in Word, poems tped on Notepad files. It's a digial minefield of private and public. Writing in a blog that no one will read or judge me for my thoughts or feeligs is, however, different. Anonymity is hard to find. Considering this is a website for "creative" people I feel there is always the possibilty that I am in the wrong place. Art is something I didn't grow up with beyond crayons and watercolors. My parents aren't creative people, my dad has trouble with stick figures. I was never expected or particularly encouraged to pursue artistic interests. This is something that has always bothered me because I think that if my home environment had been more stimulating I would have more confidence in what artistic ability I do have. Today I consider myself to primarily be a writer. I feel most comfortable communicating this way. Hopefully I'll be able to use this account to pursue and expand upon other artistic mediums. Alright. That's it for now.
