To answer your first question I don't really feel the same way about christmas as I used to just because the christmas dosen't feel thesame way when your younger as it dose when your older. And I do look forward to the holidays in the sense that I'm glad that i get to be out of school (especially after having finals) and that I get to see my family that I haven't seen in so long i.e. cousins, older siblings, aunts and uncles and thats the reasonI look forward to it.

Christmas is almost depressing now, just because I feel like I should be excited or something but theres nothing, almost an empty feeling. I don't really want anything, just like you said. I'm really in the same place you are in the whole ordeal. My family stopped putting up a tree or anything for that matter, and the days leading up are just days like any others. I dont really look forward to holidays, but since I pretty much hate high school, I look forward to any time off for any reason. But thats about it. Christmas makes me feel older than I really wanna feel. Its just another reminder that I've made it to another Christmas, I'm just that much older, and I've lost that much of the simple joys of childhood. Which I guess in itself is both good and bad.

I don't know why but i'm always excited for christmas, and i'm not big on getting gifts or anything like that, i just like the feeling of christmas. My mom goes all out decorating. We have three christmas trees (all fake), wreaths, lights all of that stuff. My family is big on christmas. Everyone is always happy, and excited. I have a big family, two younger sibling and two younger cousins so christmas has always been nice. But i liked christmas more when i believed in santa. and that may sound corny, but it's true. It was better then.

I grew up in a Muslim household, so we never had a tree or lights. But, when I was a kid, I used to look at my neighbors' houses and my friends' houses with awe. I love it. But, I never saw anything that I wanted. It might be a weird analogy, but it's like Disneyland to me. It looks great, but is there any substance? I don't know, but I never look forward to the holiday season. It's like any other day for me. As you grew older, I think you just realized that besides the gifts and lights/tree (or lack thereof for you this year), there's nothing that special about the time. There's no magic; it just seemed like there was when you were young looking up at the tree in your house and all the abnormalities - a tree inside (not outside), gifts on a day other than your birthday, lots more shopping, more family time, the colors, lights for the outside of the house instead of in, etc.

Btw,Old Country for Old Men is great. I watched it last night, and I'm looking forward to Juno sometime this week.
