Helping Out? Volunteerism doesn't pay--but it is priceless.

Ever notice that when you are in the zone time flies by.

When you are helping others how quickly time can fly too.

For four hours non-stop today I painted simple sets with a handful of students a couple of parents and a few paid and unpaid volunteers.

My observation: The unpaid volunteers worked harder and took more pride in their work. It always amazes me the capacity of the human heart to help out.

The question is what gifts do I give my volunteers who have worked tirelessly alongside me and my direction to make our first musical happen at my school?

I know as a volunteer, I want absolutely nothing except to see others shine!
