If Only I Didn't Have to Sleep

These midnight eyes are bloodshot red.
Can't seemt to keep them shut.
I remember all the nights without you.
And try to forget what they used to be like.
I try to keep wake.
I pray I don't fall asleep.
because when i sleep...i dream.
and when i dream..
all i can see..is you.

I hate being awake.
Being reminded by the coldness of an empty beside.
But I'd rather not be trapped in a dream.
Believing you've come back.
And awaking to the harsh reality of your absence.

Everywhere I go-there you are.
Its hard to not see you in everything
after all these years.
An empty passenger seat.
These streets are littered with fading memories and broken promises.
everywhere I turn, every street
there we once were.

The lids of my eyes grow heavier.
I try to keep wake with all my might.
I know if i'm weak-I'll slip rith back into the sweetest nightmare.
The same one I've had since you walked away.
