Information Age?Jun 05, 2008 - 19:50 PM PST Living this era of information doesn't seem like a big positive bang like the renaissance in Europe or industrial back in the day but our downfall. The saints in this world such as popes, pastors, to be specific such dahli lama believe that we are much closer to heaven today than we were thousands of years ago. But why would they think such way when I seem to think that most of the world thinks the opposite. Has the information age doomed us or enlightened us? Looking at that question the only thing that pops up to mind is a book called "The Giver" which reflects a lot to that question. It’s a quizzical paradox that doesn't seem to have an answer like the question as the egg being created first of the chicken? In this case is we were doomed before we were enlightened or we became enlightened and became doomed? The internet has become a powerful thing that allows every individual around the world to be exposed to many different doors out there that are credible and aren't but allowing everyone to become wiser. Has the power to be able to learn everything without limits made our human race better or worst? But those whom believe that our society is doomed ask yourself this, is it because we truly are or is it because we are now allowed to have a glimpse of what the world truly is, without it being censored by our rulers? P.S. My blog is all over the place hahaha. I don't think anyone will truely understand what I really wanted to say... o wells. |
