Invisible By You Side

*This is a rough poem/thing I wrote a few years back. Thought it would be interesting to put it up here. Tell me what you think*

People get sad when friends leave,
Wishing they spent more time together
Hoping, dreaming, scheming so it wont end,
Not us, not now, we are together, just not forever

I love being around you,
I love the sound of your voice
I even get excited, when I hear a new IM
Longing for it to be you to have another conversation
We aren’t leaving, and I love that, and you

You don’t see me, your sorta blind
I stand with you, and you stand on my shoulders
Scouring the land for your perfect man
Not to be found I know, wishing you’d look down
To see me, looking up at your beautiful eyes
And you to look down, and not look away
Ever, ever again

We aren’t leaving, nope not yet
We don’t have a parting date,
Its not for us, not today or soon
I stand by your side, desperately fighting
My heart wants to grab your hand, tell you I love you
My head wont risk ‘I don’t like you like that’ or
‘lets just be friends’, or ‘oh that’s so cute’
I don’t tell you today,
nope not today, maybe someday, but not today

I know lots about you, and can’t wait for more
But for you, I am not your man to who you’d say ‘Je T’adore’
I can tell you this, because its safe, you’re the woman, I adore.

As I sit looking into your eyes I am saddened
By the fact you don’t see in me what I see in you
Wishing you would see me as more then a friend
Then I pull myself together and sit up and think to myself
It is time to work, and work hard, time to work on me
Make myself into a great future husband serving you as practice
Longing for you to see in me the man you want by your side
I know it is not to be, for you are not about to throw your dreams aside

Now I sit here alone, not holding you but wanting to
Praying to God to ease this feeling I have for you
If there is nothing for us to be had together
