Just a thought

Mar 29, 2008 - 22:01 PM PST

So, I went to this psychic when I was in LA, yes I'm one of those people who really does believe in the stars and the moon, the gravitational pull and the position of planets having physical and psychological effects on people. Anyway, the psychic, she told me that I was in serious need of a "spiritual outlet" because I was a "very spiritual person" and I had "lots of pent up energy in that area" because I wasn't giving it any type of release or whatever...Well i'm not really the churchy type of girl. I used to go when I was younger but that was for my parents, which is crazy seeing as now one of them has absolutely nothing to do with that church that she pushed me so hard to comform to, but that's life right? Anyways, so I read the secret and I did the whole meditation and the aspiration board thing, and you know, imagined and lived my life as though I already had whatever it was that I was wanting at the time...anyway, the funny thing is that it never really worked. I never got any of those things that I was wishing and hoping and planning for, but I was still happier. Its like even if its not working, if we are still hoping and looking for whatever it is that we think we need at that time in life, even if we don't ever actually have it, if we have the hope of it, that alone is enough to keep us going and keep us believing in life and in ourselves. So looking back I'm just realizing that that's it. That's all there really is to all the religions or belief systems or whatever you want to call it. Giving hope. Its really simple when you think about it. So, my question is, why are we making it so complicated and difficult. Why is it that one groups way of thinking or believing has to be the one and only "right" way. If ten others are giving people hope and making them believe that there is more to life then just getting through the day, making them believe that we all have a purpose for being here, then aren't they all accomplishing what they've set out to do? And so then wouldn't that make them all "right"? Just random late night thoughts. I don't even know if I'm making any sense. But maybe I am. That's what I'm hoping for right now, just to make sense.
