Just Surprise; You Don't Control Your Life

Mar 16, 2008 - 08:51 AM PST

People pop in and out of my life like cameos on Friends. Tune in to see who shows up this week!

Allow me to explain the current situation, and vent it so I hopefully cease to think about it. A ex best friend and the reason why the ex precedes it walked into my work, not for a chat -to actually necessitate my service to them through my working. That of course is uncomfortable. I've lived a happy two years now without either in my life, or thoughts. And why I can get a grip to deal with that, another just waltzes into my work and life literally just to say hello.

This one's story; if you could call it that as it's far too tragic and far too simple to elaborate on: I tried everything in my power to a) like him b) save him and I lost at both. Some people you sit around watching them explode everything they have going for them, and it's painful to sit shotgun to. But I'm no angel, and my wings aren't big enough to have ever saved him. He's still a nice kid though, if all he wanted was to say hello when he saw me through the window.

So the questions I can't seem to wrap my head around is this: why now within 24 hours of each other do random people come into my work, and am I supposed to include them back into my life?

Sadly, I can't offer you any help on the situation but I will say this: You have a great voice and I would like to read some of your fiction when you get it up. I like the conversational tone of, "I tried everything in my power to a) like him b) save him and I lost at both." And I love the line about sitting shotgun to habitually self-destructive behavior - I've been there, I feel your pain.

All in all, good job, even it was just a rant. :)
