Keys...

I've arrived in a place all too familiar
One of careful construction
Bleeding into crevasses
Sheets of displacement swallow
I'm haunted by our promise
Spilling distruth upon the canvas of perfection
I deny reality for harsher truth
Alone again when defenses were lowered
A lost little girl with an exposed heart
Clutching keys which just don't fit
Drowning
Emotion which couldn't exist
Why is it so hard?
Pulling apart pieces
Laying down sutured remains to protect the soul of your calloused feet
Walking upon my needled skin
And in the end
I am not enough
Frail, lacking the strength to battle the aggression placed
And I am saddened now
Consumed in sorrow
For the loss of all I sought
Silly when it never was mine to hold...jle
