Looking on the bright side...

Most of the time, I'm pretty not happy about living back here again, but I was driving home from work the other day, and the sun came out from behind the clouds. The sun doesn't shine much around here in the winter time. We just get sheets and sheets of rain, and we've been having really awful windstorms for the past couple of years now too, which makes it damn near impossible to enjoy the outdoors.

But just for a moment, when the sun came out, I felt like I was really going to enjoy the summer here. Because the summers here are undeniably beautiful, and there's like well over a dozen lakes to go swimming at, not to mention the ocean. And today when I left work, it wasn't dark out like it has been lately, there were still a few minutes left of daylight. It made me feel hopeful, for the first time in a really long time. I'm really looking forward to the days getting longer and the sun coming out more, and the warmth.
