More Rain

I miss hearing the hissing as it passed through the leaves of the trees and the eventual subtle clashes as it came upon the surface on which it was to land
The soft music it made that sounded like light drum beats on plastic, pavement, and metal.

I miss the moist feeling in the air that made my skin so cool while underneath a safe haven from the downpour.

I miss the smell of water in the atmosphere and the way the chimney smoke polluted it. Rising out from rooftops to warm the houses safe from dampness. The scent of soggy grass, mud, and cement lingering to my nose to enlighten me.

I miss sight of the clouds hiding the land from the atmosphere. Shading us from the sun and blocking out my world from all else above. Even blinding the spy and keeping him from peering into my world.

I long for rain.
