MORE THAN A FRIEND- PART 5

Nov 20, 2007 - 16:35 PM PST

Back at the Lakey house, Eric and Mavis were enjoying their reunion in their candle-lit bedroom. When the man of the house came home, his wife had a soothing bath ready and a light dinner of Creole-lime chicken and sautéed broccoli florets waiting for him in the microwave.

After his bath, Mavis pulled out her favourite scented oil and began to massage her husband’s dark brown body, intent on relaxing every muscle he had. And Eric had a lot of them. As a paediatrician, he believed in keeping his body healthy and toned, working out in his home gym whenever his schedule allowed and sometimes at his father-in-law’s boxing club. He kept in shape not only to keep up with his many young patients, but to also please his wife. Eric knew that Mavis loved the way his rippling muscles felt beneath her hands. And since he loved having her hands on him so much, that provided him with excellent motivation to stay fit.

Eric was a huge fan of his wife’s body, too. He especially loved Mavis’ deep mahogany skin and the way it was complemented by her waist-length silky hair. Her small frame supported perky wineglass-size breasts, ample hips, and a perfect Vidalia onion-shaped bottom which Eric couldn’t quite keep his hands off of. Mavis’ generous bottom was a strong family trait shared by all the Bloom women.

“Let me touch you now, baby,” Eric moaned deep in his throat, eager to caress his wife’s body.

Complying with her husband’s wishes, Mavis lay on her stomach, fully aware of his desires, his preferences. They were always like that with each other. Always anticipating the needs and desires of the other.

Slowly pouring oil in a trail down Mavis’ back, Eric watched as the essence of the mixture sparkled from her mid-back to the tips of her generous derriere, beckoning him to touch her there, everywhere. As he gently massaged the oil into her rich mahogany skin, he planted random kisses up and down her spine, stopping briefly to kiss her in special places. Mavis writhed beneath his touch.

“I’m ready, baby,” she moaned, thrashing her body back and forth, lost in passion as she voiced her desire for consummation.

“Are you sure, baby?” Eric asked teasingly, knowing full well that she was. Soon they were joined, her back to his chest. Holding her close, Eric caressed Mavis’ soft skin in a soothing, loving manner. Slowly, rhythmically, they moved together. Then faster, sensually, they began a wild, mind-blowing series of motions. Their intense conjugal beat and the effect of his wife’s soft body against him was enough to send the passionate man sailing over the edge.

Forcing himself not to get too caught up in his own pleasure, Eric tried to slow things down a bit. He had to make sure that Mavis was satisfied. But as he began to slow the rhythm, she began to petition him to maintain the current pace. More than willing to cooperate, Eric re-quickened the tempo with strong rhythms of love as he and his wife shuddered and surrendered to ecstasy.

Moments later, husband and wife lay drained and satiated in each other’s arms. Awakening an hour later, they quickly showered and ate their neglected meal before Cindy returned with the kids.

On the drive home, Cindy checked on the sleeping kids in the backseat. In the background, she could hear Andre singing along with the radio. It was her favourite Luther Vandross’ song called “Superstar” and he sounded great singing it. She’d forgotten how well Andre could sing. With his good looks and enormous talent, he could have made it big in the music business.

Waiting until after the song was over, Cindy asked, “Have you ever thought of singing professionally?”

“Yeah, I have,” Andre admitted. “But I’m pretty busy right now with the restaurant to do anything like that. Hey, you ought to come back down and let me treat you to another meal. I’ll have my multi-talented chefs fix you anything you like, even if it isn’t on the menu.” A smile spread across his face at the very thought of his business, his own professional baby that has kept him on his P’s and Q’s for years, trying to mature it into the quality establishment he intended it to be.

Cindy could tell that Andre was excited by his career as a restaurateur and it made her long for the same thing. She wanted to feel that way about a job one day. “I’d like that. I noticed that it was pretty crowded in there on Sunday, so your restaurant must be doing well. Mavis told me that you stay booked up for months in advance.”

Andre nodded with pleasure. “Yeah, I worked very hard to build up my clientele. Hiring the right mixture of chefs, along with creating the right atmosphere is finally starting to pay off for me. Trying to hold all that together just keeps me too busy to pursue other things. It even stood in the way of my church attendance, but I plan on changing that real soon,” he said decisively, turning the car down a quiet, brightly-lit street. “I love this new subdivision. I might buy a home in this neighbourhood one day.”

Cindy turned from looking at him to peruse the beautiful ranch style homes around her. This does look like a great neighbourhood to live in, she mused in appreciation. She pointed to a very nice house on the right. “I like that brick one over there with the double garage.” Then not wanting to stray from their previous conversation too much, Cindy made a suggestion. “Andre, maybe you can do both. Maybe you can have your restaurant and your music.”

“What do you mean do both? How?” Andre asked, now very interested even though he couldn’t readily see how his current schedule could allow for such a thing.

“You could build a mini-stage in your restaurant and have musical talents, including yourself, sing there once a week or so. I think your patrons would love that. I’ll even help you get it started. Besides, your voice has got to be heard. It’s terrific and needs to be shared with others. I’m thinking that you should even make a demo or something. That way people can take that voice home with them.”

“Hmm...Let me think about that, Cindy. You may have something there.” Then for the rest of the drive, Andre was silent, deep in thought.

After dropping Cindy and the kids off, Andre thought even more about what she’d said. It was a good idea, no, a great idea to enhance his business that way. Finally resting comfortably at his apartment, Andre stayed up late that night writing down the beginning stages of taking his business to the next level.

Cindy, you did it again. Always seeing the good in people and looking for ways to pull it out of them, Andre mused, pausing over his legal pad as he remembered that Cindy had been the reason he’d started Andre’s in the first place.

Seven years ago, Cindy suggested that Andre start his own business after years of successfully managing his parents’ fast-food restaurants while they were away overseas. Although the Wells had wanted at least one of their sons to establish another Wells Barbecue Heaven, they did not push either of them to do so. With their parents’ blessing, Tim followed his heart and became a lawyer. And Andre followed his and opened an upscale restaurant which would offer fine cuisine and eventually dancing.

Dancing. There it was. In his busyness, Andre had forgotten how he planned on incorporating dancing into his business, too. He’d been so focused on creating the perfect environment for fine dining, that he’d failed to accomplish the other goal he’d set forth. Right now, his restaurant filtered in mostly jazz and classical music through their intricate intercom system. To have live music and dancing would certainly give Andre’s an added edge over the competition.

Cindy, I’m sure glad you’re home, Andre silently reiterated as he finally settled into bed. That night he slept better than he had in months
