MotivationDec 16, 2007 - 08:43 AM PST When do we learn this? Did i miss the class? I think a real issue with my own motivation is that my parents were never motivated to be more than they are. They settled for mediocrity, and just sorta expected the same out of me. They never pushed me to be great, and I never learned to want it... till it was too late. It seems like they just started parenting all of a sudden once I hit college and expected me to just drink it in. Obviously that was a bad plan... So now I find myself searching for motivation more than anything. In fact, I'm so lazy (un-motivated... whatever) that I don't do basic healthy things without being motivated... as if it's health giving effects aren't enough. I'm so perfectly protected from people around me (friends, girlfriend, family, co-workers...) that I always have a way to avoid them making me feel guilty about it. I just wish I knew how to get on a track and stay on it, short of hypnosis. |
