My manifesto in progress

Did you know that our generation is the FIRST generation with the power to end POVERTY in our lifetime?

We've been told that we will be the leaders of tomorrow. I don't believe that's exactly true. As Justin Trudeau put it, the only way to make a difference tomorrow is to start today. Leadership begins now. WE are the leaders of today.

All we need is a little a shift in values. North America spends more money in the diet industry than the government spends on health, education and welfare combined. More people voted for American Idol (which i am not bashing for I love it)than for any president IN HISTORY. If Europe went on an ice cream fast for a year, we could stop the spread of AIDS in Africa. Again, I am not talking about banning ice cream... This is only a testament of how much resources we have at our disposition.

Make a difference in your community today. Volunteer. Join a social justice or environment group/club/organization.

Become a global citizen. Get informed on world issues. The more you know, the more you can do. Because knowledge power.

If you can, travel. Immerse youself in different cultures. Volunteer overseas.

These are things that I think about and work on everyday.

I write this to you hoping you'll join me in the fight to undo centuries of oppression, poverty, and injustice.

You don't have to save the cheerleader to save the world.

It begins with how you spend your money. What you do today. What you will do tomorrow. What you say. Who you say it to.

It begins with you.
