New FriendsJan 11, 2008 - 11:57 AM PST In keeping with my resolutions for this year, I’ve met a ton new people recently…and I find myself much more easily accepting people of their differences. I mean, that makes it sound like I used to be a racist or something, that’s not what I mean. I just have been able to see the extreme good in people, and I like it. I even had dinner with this whole new group of people recently, and I have to say, it was a ton of fun. I mean, something weird happened that was beyond my control, and I don’t mean to make light of it. But it was otherwise a ton of fun. On a perhaps unrelated topic entirely…I think my next performance art piece is going to be on drugs and/or alcohol, and its effects on society. Well, maybe not society, but definitely our generation. It’s interesting if you think about it…I feel as though drugs are really running our generation into the ground, but if you think about it, people in the 70s should have been on the forefront of that, you know? Man, it’s so crazy to think of all the shit they did, and yet here they are, running the country, being our parents, etc., etc. So effed. I’d be interested to hear some thoughts anyone else has on the topic, cause I’d like to do a montage of quotes from people on the matter. You can leave a comment here or just message me about it. I recognize some or most of the comments will be of a personal nature so no worries if you want to keep it…well, personal. Rock on. |
