On Needing In Love

If I am half a person
Do I seek another to be made whole?
Why would I say I need you?
Is what I need something half-a-someone could know?

If love is made of needing
Is saying "I love you" a thing of fear
That if the words aren’t uttered
The love was never here?

If truth is what I’m after
And I say you’re all I need
Would you stay because you love me
Or because I’ve guilted you?

Suppose your love had faded
Would you stay or would you leave
Knowing that your absence would be the death of me?

If the love we share is unconditional
Then I don’t need you at all
I only want to be with you
If you leave me I won’t fall

"I need you" in love is for the broken, the wrecked and incomplete
Love is true for the completed
Who adore without hesitation
Desire without inhibition
And care none for compensation
