awkward affluence floats as a
spectre none visible yet our
audience has fallen victim to

constructing our voice boxes allowing
none but a single sound to play:
act of respiration.

like lighting without the thunder
you're presented in front me,
counting down the seconds

awaiting your sonic boom of
actions now rendered lame.
it pains me too, losing yourself

to a lost cause, mi hermana.

like a dog without bark

loyalty amounts second to none.

yet, your fight raped of
its vessle disabling expression.
scratching at the heels

of a statue that, in
my opinion, refuses recognition.
instead, stone cold glares of a monument.
