ParentsMar 01, 2008 - 16:11 PM PST Why do parents freak out when their child decides they want to do something crazy with there hair or get a piercing? I've never understood that. I've dyed my hair several times and my mom could care less. In fact, she does it for me. She told me, "It's your hair you can do what you want to it." I have some fiends that just want to get simple blond highlights and their parents have a total fit. Several of my friends pierced their noses and lips and their parents got so pissed off. I don't understand it! Why make such a big deal out of it? They're just trying to express themselves. It's so stupid. There's just one more thing that has happened to a lot of my friends. Their parents tell them they wear too much black. What the heck? It's just black! The parents always assume that their child is going "goth" or "emo" just because they are wearing black! And why would they care what stereotype their child is? It doesn't matter! If they want to be "goth" or "emo" then let them! Just let them be their selves! Marcia{ |
