(Poem) My Rest In Peace Recited

Jan 31, 2008 - 20:39 PM PST

Shocking as you lay there,
There on you're fathers skin,
Ironic this confusion,
Though it's how it's always been.

I held you in one hand,
Not much larger than a dime,
Longing so much to know you,
I wish we'd had some time.

My heart began to race,
As my eye's began to well,
As I gaze into his eye's,
And of whom, not what, I tell.

Underneath the tree,
I rest you in the snow,
And to heaven I hand you,
My gift to them bestowed.

Always a part of who I am,
And the both of us united,
This for you my child I wrote,
My rest in peace recited.
