Point of ViewMar 11, 2008 - 20:20 PM PST Born with a cocoon around us Made of places, events, and people we've met Looking from the inside out Everything is clear-It makes sense But from outside looking in We look blurry and our cocoon is cracked And the lies seep in through the seems Some people try to break their cocoon A metamorphosis of the mind And they may manage to get an arm out Or maybe a leg or two And they can move more freely Walk more fluidly through the lies But their eyes remain covered This peripheral vision Sensing truth but not quite grasping Is where most journeys end When the blind begin leading the blind Where people give up And start asking for directions Rather than searching for themselves But there are those who dare to search The few who have achieved peripheral vision And who have chosen to rebuild their cocoon A recycled blend of old cocoons and the cocoons of others Rather than breaking free of the cocoon They have reinvented the cocoon And created a lens to see the truth |
