Rant: The Real Gateway Drug

So I grew up in the 90s. During the war on drugs. You know how fucked that is? The war on drugs? Anyone know the kind of propaganda they were spreading about drugs? I was told, no matter what drug it was, BAM! It was going to kill me. First time I used it. Cocaine. BAM! Dead. Heroine? BAM! Dead. Marijuana kills! They taught us that. They had to retract that statement when they were told, that it in fact, doesn't. Whoops. But then they said "Marijuana is a gateway drug. It induces hallucinagens and makes things CRAZY, which means then you'll take acid and then BAM! Dead." Pot isn't a gateway drug, you know what is a gateway drug?

Sleep.

Sleep is a gateway drug. When people sleep, they think that they can do all sorts of crazy shit. Like fly, eat clouds, grow six feet tall and have sex with Angelina Jolie and then eat the eyes of Rupert Murdoch in cereal.

That's fucked! And you KNOW that just leads to more extreme highs! Now, some of the kids are Lucid dreaming. Where they actually CONTROL their dreams. They can do ANYTHING they want.

Now, I'm going to tell you because you seem cool. This doesn't LEAVE here. But, I uh, I've been.... dreaming. For a while now.

and I can't stop. At first it was just fun. I'd have a long day, come back and unwind. SLeep for eight hours and I'd feel refreshed! But now, I just, can't stop. I don't know what's happened to me. I thought I had it under control. I wasn't going to become one of those "sleep junkies" on the side of the road, can't wait to hit it up in dream land. But now, I'm easily doing it like, seven times a week. Oh GOD!

And I'm trying to quit, but it's so hard. I have to do cocaine just to stay awake!
