realizing it will never work

so on and off forEVER i've had the same guy on my mind, dated him here and there. we have been decent friends since H.S. I never really was in love w/ him but he was always someone there, always someone i though id be with one day. Today i realized it's never going to happen...kinda sad, kinda not. He had allot of baggage, kids LOL and issues. I am just not good w/ the dating thing and he was just always someone i was comfortable with. Until tonight, it was just weird him being over. I know ill remain friends w/ him but i also know it will never go any further anymore. On another note i kinda am crushing on someone thats out of my league...a crush LOL it makes me laugh really. seems like im a kid or something when i 'crush'. Nothing will ever come of this person b/c im too chicken to let it. GOSH i suck!

I had someone like this in my life for a long time too. We were on and off for about 3 years, and he was always sort of there. Looking back, I feel like I kind of used him because he always liked me more than I liked him. When I got married a few months ago I thought of him, what he was doing now and such.. about how we always said we'd get married one day and that I hadn't even talked to him in years now. But I hope he's doing well.
