SarahOct 11, 2008 - 15:51 PM PST She wasn't the popular girl, and she wasn't the rich kid. She wasn't extraordinary, she wasn't even that pretty. Sarah was tragically normal. She was in band, a seven year veteran of her chosen instrument, the trumpet. Her life was not exciting but she lived it fully and to the greatest extent she could. her small circle of friends was enough. Between them they managed to create a small amount of chaos, and she was always busy on the weekends. Spending time in the mall, watching movies, bowling, rollerskating. They created their own whirlwind of fun and activity. Usually with Sarah trying to push the others into something crazy, like The Rocky Horror Picture Show or a local rock show, but usually failing. Despite her desire for adventure, Sarah didn't want a fast paced love life like she saw in the halls around her. She held no deep longing for the shallow physical relations her peers held. She longed something akin to the love she had seen only in Austin novels and those silly romance movies she grew up watching. Sarah, while rational and well grounded on the exterior, was a hopeless romantic. She wanted someone to sweep her off her feet. She wanted grand romantic gestures, or any romantic gesture at all. She wanted to know someone cared about her and thought of her as more than just a friend. She wanted to be wooed. and as much as Sarah respected Lizzie and loved her initiative, she was not going to make that first move. Sarah was old fashioned, and it earned her much grief from her friends about it. But Sarah did not change. She was sure the right guy would come along and find her. |
