so here's the deal

so here's the situation...just read sad mean things on youtube about how i am a (cunt) due to my behind the scenes interview where i discuss the fact that i was insecure about playing a character who's crux was her issues about her looks and being a "beautiful girl"...i'm not whining, i just think that it is interesting that your damned if you do and your damned if you don't....if you are confident- you're a cunt and a bitch...if you're insecure about being the "hot girl"in the situation- you are dramatizing your insecurity and pulling a "woe is me" therefore making you more of a cunt and bitch...so here's the deal (as per you tube) there was no gun (or penis) held to my head, but i am an actress playing a role, who was newly blond and discovering this "sexy" character...i don't really get "it" so i'm not being a bitch or screen testing cunt, i'm just doing my job...something i love...that's all
that's all

I think the web allows a certain anonymity through which people get a perverse high off being absurdly cruel. These people are idiots who don't even realize what they're saying after a certain point. Personally, I really enjoy your work as Lisa. She's vulnerable in a way that draws you in deeper & makes you curious to learn more. You really, really sell her insecurity. I am looking forward to more of you (and Lisa) in season two.

I must say that I'm truly enjoying where you've taken Lisa's character. I remember joining a band and having 12 days to learn 8 songs for a show in NYC. It wasn't my first performance, but I was nervous nonetheless. As a result, I relate to Lisa, and I completely believe in the way you present her joining the band...thrilled and terrified all at the same time. Great work!

Pay no attention at all to such stupid and totally unrealistic remarks. This kind of crap come with the job (at least that's what I heard). You just keep on doing this great job that you do and "nevermind the bollocks".

Maite -- I can't even imagine what it would feel like to experience what you wrote about. All I can say as a fan of the show and of your work on the show, is hang in there and do not let that B.S. get to you. Keep exposing your soul and listening to Marshall (the real Marshall, not that snarky acting teacher dude <g>). And keep discovering new aspects of your character. I expect you've got a lot of humanity to explore and portray on the screen - both small and big.

Yeah, it's such a double-edged sword. The whole situation. Because on one hand, it's terrible to make everything so material, but on the other hand, sadly, our society drives it, you know. At the same time that we object to the JLH comments or even to you Maite, we're fueling it, it's somewhat circuitous. But, the distinction in my belief, is yes, sometimes it is a persons job to be critical whether it's positive or negative everyone is allowed their opinion. The danger comes, such as in this case, when those opinions are uninformed and immaterial. I guess what I mean, is that, they weren't attacking your acting ability, which although mean, would be acceptable (for critiquing purposes), but they were attacking your comments on how you prepared for your role and masked it as somehow being about your role. And that's person, and unwarranted, because they don't know you, so they're commenting on things they are uninformed about. But anywho, again, Maite, your abilites are clear, you seem like a strong person, and obviously you know you'll be fine, and if not, you've got support from a lot of people out there:)
