The Difference Between Loving and Fucking

I really don't know
If I have ever made love
To anyone.
There is a difference between
making love
and fucking.
(or "having sex" if you're a prude)
Making love is,
As a textbook or nervous parent might say,
"A special act between two people
Who really love each other"
That's all fine and good
But we're not all that lucky.
I have had a lot of sex.

Sex in various cars
That are parked in various places,
Sex on couches,
But making love?
I'm not so sure about that.
I believe that I was in love once.
I was, I think, in love when I lost my virginity.
I like to think that was true.
And that's how it should be, right?
Since then I have had, as I've said,
A lot of sex.
