THE LIFE WE LIVE

The road is long,
the path is narrow,
yet each of us must walk it daily
the days drain us painfully,
the nights do not refresh,
this, my friends, is the life we lead
the weeks drag on,
the years fly by,
happiness is fading,
the pain always waiting,
this,my friends,is the life we lead - and it still walks on
it is what we make it
our choices change our fate

through love & loss
through friends & foes
through change & chaos
through life & death

through all this, on our paths we find
and as time goes on, so do our roads
until we reach our destination,
turn back to see,
turn back to say:
that is the life i led
